The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, Inc. (CAST) will have performances of Cabaret July 25-27 and August 1-3 at 7:30pm.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.ClearfieldArts.org or at the CAST office Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 and Thursdays 4:30-5:30. Tickets can also be purchased at the box office 30 minutes before each performance, if not already sold out.
This production is directed by Brandi Billotte and Katelynn Smith.
Cabaret is set against the emergence of anti-Semitism and fascism in 1930s Germany with a lot of the action taking place inside of a seedy underground nightclub during a time in history where everyone was having the best time, indulging in every kind of vice you can imagine.
This show is a huge, fun party until all of a sudden it isn’t.
Cabaret opened on Broadway in 1966 and is currently in its fourth revival, which is a testament to its timeless appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Once described as a “musical for people who don’t like musicals,” the show is a compelling historical drama complete with complicated romance plot lines, sinister villains, and bawdy hilarity in addition to the show’s various epic dance numbers and hauntingly beautiful score.
Note that this production is not suitable for children or those that are easily offended. Recommended age for admittance is 18 plus.
The UMI Autocross Challenge is a two day motorsports event held annually at UMI Motorsports Park. With humble beginnings as a Cruise-In car show, we eventually added autocross. This standalone autocross event is now one of the premier races of its kind in the USA. Autocross competitors from all over the US and Canada test drive their machines for two full days on UMIMP’s 5/8 mi autocross course. This course features high speeds, technical sections, elevation changes and varying configurations. In addition to the racing component, the UMI Autocross Challenge is all about fun, friends, and family. We have a Thursday night track party, Friday night fun at the local watering hole, and plenty of other food along the way. The UMI Autocross Challenge is family friendly and makes for a great way to go racing while not having to leave the kids at home.
